Perfect Position

Hi All,
I took this shot yesterday after a long hike to the top of Nevada Falls in Yosemite or maybe it was Vernal Falls (I can't remember I was soaking and buggered, surprisingly warm even though a heap of snow is still around)
WOW what a place to grow
I took dozens of shots of many great struggles, more jins than an English bar...

The Sierras are magnificent and inspiring, a place every Bonsaist should have on their bucket list.

I was a little disapointed with the lack of movement on this next specimen...what gauge wire would I need?

Hi Glenn,

what a great pic of that pine !!

Talk about living on the edge ?!!

And to think that the seed not only found its way up there some how, but was so close to being over the edge, and perhaps never germinating.

What a delight to find.

I think I may have to take your advise and put Yoesmite on my list as well.

I love theses pics, thanks for sharing them.

Would love to see more pics, if you have the moment to post some (esp any nice jins !! ).

For your second tree, you'll need a trunk-chop, then grow it in the ground for a few (thousand) years.

Oh, and root-prune regularly. Don't forget the fertiliser.

Love the pine Shows the sruggle they have to deal with which is why we do not get the same twisted Yamadori in Aus.

the "General Sherman" I think is a Gian Sequoia I think
they can make a very nice Bonsai actually, but that one is a think a little too large even for me

3mm should do it Glenn. Perhaps wrap two strands in parallel if the first does not hold.
