[ID REQUIRED] Red/Purple leaves and bark. Weed or not?

Post by NathanM »

Hey guys,
I'm in the process of getting the backyard sorted for building my benches (still need besser blocks though :P) and the back fence is lined with a red/purple plant with white "flowers", more like balls.
Just wandering if anyone knows what it is? I am pulling it out anyway. But I guess I should find out if it's poisonous or what. I made a bit of a start, but decided it's better to find out before i get too far into it!
Thanks guys
PS Sorry for the poor photo, was taken on my phone

gday champ :D

I had these at my old place, it gets little white flowers that a ball shaped. I havent had any problems with it rather than its profuse growing and spreading easily.

pulling it out shouldnt be a prob!

cant tell ya what it is though, cant remember, i did try bonsai one ages ago, it does get a little woody but not overly suited. Im pretty sure it bleeds a milky substance when damaged/cut.

Sweet, thanks dude!
It doesn't seem to root too deep either, coming out easy enough! As long as it won't give me any rashes or poison me I'm happy haha :P

PS I'm going to send you a PM when I've got the time to type it :P

yep you shouldnt have a prob champ, just watch for paper wasps as this stuff is loved by them, I got nailed pretty badly when I ripped mine out! you shouldnt get rashes or anything, but everyone is a bit different. but in saying that if you do have a reaction unless your highly allergic to heaps of stuff you should be good bro!

and cool man :D look forward to it :D
