I recently had some fun with
A couple of plastic pot trays
Wire
Expanding foam
Rocks and soil
and Paint
After talking to another member of my local bonsai club, i thought i would have a go at using Expanding Foam to create a Landscape Tray
Heres some photos of the process i used.
Rocks and soil added as foam was setting
The process was fun, and as you can see is not perfect by any means (and will only be used in my backyard), paint needs finishing, but i am happy with the results
Tray is 650mm long, 420mm at widest, 60mm high
Trees are 25mm to 55mm high

Re: A fun couple of afternoons
That turned out better than what I would expect. Interesting topic, I was discussing foam as a lanscape medium recently on another thread.

Regards, Mitchell.

Re: A fun couple of afternoons
Hi Mitchell
Thanks
It turned out better than I thought it would, although I had pretty low expectations to start with
Will wait to see how it weathers and how quickly it deteriorates.
Can you post link to the thread you mentioned?
Thanks
