That is very disapointing, as they are very nice tools. I have been using mine for 26 years now, and they still work well, both carbon steel and the stainless ones.

Maybe they have a local importer they are trying to protect or maybe they are going to appoint one, I see a lot of this going on lately, stores in the US are prohibited from sending certain products to Australia by the supplier of those products in order to protect the local sellers and importers here.

If you guys are really keen to get them, you can look into a Japanese buying service. Just google it and a whole lot of them will come up. I haven't used any Japanese ones so I can't recommend any, however I have used a US Buying service before. They give you a US shipping address and will consolidate multiple packages before forwarding to you. They will even buy things on your behalf (for a fee) if the sellers doesn't accept foreigns credit cards. I am sure the Japanese buying services are similar. Might be worth while trying to organise something in bulk as it is usually not that cheap.

Hi guys

Kaneshin won't post to Australia because the official local distributor is Bonsai Art in Terrey Hills Sydney.

Just recieved a few postal order Kaneshin tools from Brian at Bonsai Art.
Good price - competitive and in a few cases cheaper than that listed on the Kaneshin site
Fast postage ordered on Wednesday arrived today
Only issue is they do not have prices listed on their website, though if you go to the Kaneshin site http://kaneshin.shop.multilingualcart.com/ you can use that as an estimate and then email Bonsai Art to get a final price on your items.
They also said they could order in more obscure items from the Kaneshin site that they do not have in stock.

Cheers
