Guava as bonsai?
Anyone ever used guava as bonsai? Got a bunch of seedlings and more advanced potted plants that i have been growing as food plants for stick insects but was thinking they could make a nice bonsai, their leaves reduce well and they have quite attractive bark

Re: Guava as bonsai?
I have several Guava as bonsai. They have great peeling bark, fruit and are fairly attractive as bonsai. There are many guava species with some having much smaller leaves. Naturally, the smaller leafed varieties are easiest to shape into attractive bonsai.
Good luck with yours.

Hi Hornet,
I have 2 Guava trees i am growing, one is a slanting tree and the other was created from seedlings. I twisted several around each other and planted , they are fused together quite well. They get flowers and nice little fruits

Re: Guava as bonsai?
Hi
I've seen photos online of miniature Guava bonsai that were stunning, my cousin has one in his yard and I'll be taking cuttings of that soon.
I had 2 regular Guava plants for a while, they were growing together in a tiny pot and the roots were a mess. During this process I found out they can handle hectic root reduction without worries.
