Hi Hornet
It depends how thick and how long since they were cut off the tree. Figs have a very strong will to live so they may strike. I usually leave a couple of leaves up the top and get them in a pot staright away to reduce moisture loss. A mix with some diatomite in it is good as it will stay damp - you don't want the pot to dry out. I have struck cuttings up to about 40mm - any thicker I usually air layer. Good luck :fc:

You should have no issues, I took 4 cuttings two years ago with only one or two leaves and they all kicked on fine. They ranges from 150mm, 100mm, 50mm and 30mm thick. I just made a temporary nursery out of a foam box and cling wrap (nice and cheap) hormone powder and propergating sand :tu:

A little trick i did when taking cuttings was to cut at the base of the branch where it flares out at the connection. This way you get a bit of extra tapper/flare at the base of the tree cutting :D

Good Luck
