Collected Bougainvillea

Post by kcpoole »

I dug this one from my back yard a year os so ago and thought I shodu create a thread for it to help out BonsaiBoy with his in this post here. viewtopic.php?f=133&t=9093

It was always out of control in the ground, and thought is was too nice to chuck as I think it is a pale pink Bracht on it.

The trunks were reduce to just 5, and shortened to give a variation in height on each.
The dead wood on the stump was painted with "Earls wood Hardener" where the bark woud not cover in a year or 2 to protect it as it rots easily. Other pruning scars etc were covered with cut paste.

Exposed wood on a Bougy is very soft and rots easily so MUST be protected.

I will hopefully pot into a Bonsai pot this year so suggestions welcome as to what style of pot. ( Glazed Oval I think).
