Just because Ryan's workshops are full you can still observe the great talent doing his thing with the mortals. The observers will get a chance to see him work with other material. Don't miss out. :fc:

A few people who like to sleep in on the Sunday morning of AABC conventions have asked why the Ryan Neil critiques are on SO EARLY (8am) on Sunday morning. We were going to make this an optional fee paying event but decided to make it open to everyone to share the benefit of Ryan's ideas as widely as possible. Plants from the display will be brought in to the convention room for Ryan's critique. Ryan's critiques are very good value - there are three videos of Ryan Neil critiques on the CBS website (http://www.cbs.org.au )- click on Videos then go to Page 2.

Hi All

For all those thinking of coming to the Convention in Canberra next May, but who haven't got around to registering yet, a reminder that earlybird (discount) registration closes at the end of October.

So, get those registrations in quickly :!:. Remember you can register online at http://www.cbs.org.au/2012AABC/ as well as by snailmail.

It's been said above but next year is a BIG year for Canberra - with the 100th anniversery celebrations. So, not only can you come to the Convention, but there are heaps of other things to be doing while you're here... just check out the website - http://www.canberra100.com.au/ . Both the Convention and the Exhibition are listed there as well.

Hope to see you here next May. :)

Hi again everyone

It's just over 8 weeks until the convention, and 5 weeks until registrations close, so here are a few reminders/updates... :D.

Remember:
- Registrations close on 30 April 2012. Late registrations will not be accepted.
- Payment in full must be received by Canberra Bonsai Society within 10 days of registration, and no later than 30 April 2013. If you've registered recently, but not yet
paid[/list], please make sure payment is with us within the 10 days.

All participant places for Ryan's Master-class Workshops on Monday have been filled (as Neville posted above) but you can still register as an observer for both sessions. :) We've arranged a larger venue for these sessions given the demand.
- if you've already registered for the Convention, please email registration@cbs.org and either pay the additional amount online or send a cheque for the additional
amount.
- if you haven't registered for the convention yet, you should include the workshop/s you want to attend in your registration. You can register online at
http://www.cbs.org.au/2013AABC/register.html or download the registration form, complete it and post it to the address given.

Places are still available for both participants and observers for Averil and Andrew's Workshops on Monday. Either or both would be great opportunities to build bonsai skills.

The Friday morning tour of the National Arboretum Canberra and the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia is full.

The demand for the tours has been more than we expected, and we have organised an additional bus for the Friday afternoon tour. We'll do our best to ensure everyone wanting to take a bus tour can do so. To help us, if you haven't registered yet and want to take a bus tour, please register as soon as possible.

There are still vacancies on both Monday tours.

Those of you who've been following the posts on the opening of the new NBPCA home at the National Arboretum Canberra will have a sense of just how great it is.... a privilege for those of us who get to spend time there regularly and well worth visiting.

And, finally, the full program for the Canberra 100 celebrations is rolling out, with many new events now listed on the Canberra 100 website. To see what’s on, please visit http://www.canberra100.com.au/ .

We're all looking forward to seeing many of you here in May.

Hi Karl

At this stage, we (the organising committee) are not planning to release an official video of the convention. We understand that those who can't be there will be disappointed with this decision :( , but for a number of reasons it's not viable for us to do so. We'll let you know if that changes.

Hi Every one.

Hope you're all having a great weekend. I'm off to the NBPCA shortly - looks like another glorious autumn day in spite of the threat of rain later on... :)

Just a reminder that we're getting very close to the close of registrations now - only 18 days to get yours in if you haven't already!!!! All the prep is going really well and we're looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

Cheers

Yes, only 15 days before registrations close.

There are still observer places for Ryan Neil's workshops on Monday (AM and PM) and places in Averil Stanley's and Andrew Ward's workshops.

Also an extra bus has been put on for Friday afternoon - 2.30 pm - tour of the Arboretum and the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia. An absolutely stunning collection of Australia's best bonsai. Not to be missed!

Registration available online (http://www.cbs.org.au/2013AABC/register.html ), or you can download a pdf and snail mail it - however remember payment has to be in by the 30th... Details of direct deposit are available on the brochure, website and registration form.

See you there folks (it is shaping up to be a big event)
