They were tagged as follows from left to right

Picea orientalis Spring Frost
Pinus thunbergii
Pinus thunbergii Yatsabusa
Pinus strobus Merrimack

I think all are grafted except the one tagged Pinus thunbergii, although there is branches around the base and I haven't checked below the soil line thoroughly.

And as a bonus,
Yatsabusa cones.jpg
These came off the plant tagged Yatsabusa. And it has these cones developing.

From doing a quick search I see that find Yatsabusa should be Yatsubusa and be notes dwarf varieties.

I also went back today and got another P. thunbergii thats quite lanky and and a bit yellow. It, as well as the shorter one in the group pic, have cones developing. I'm thinking of planting it for seed.

As for the other plants, they aren't without they're issues. The grafts are very neat, but have produced a swelling that leads to a reverse taper. So i'm seeing these as learning trees that I can propagate from, try some air layers and cuttings, and basically enjoy them.

I am also getting Hoy Leong Kwongs Pinus In The Temperate Climate which should prove invaluable since I haven't really grown pines before. I only have a few collected Pines that grow wild up here. I haven't tried to ID them, always thought of them as Radiata's, but after a bit of reading I will have to actually have a closer look.

So any advice, comments, etc. are welcome. Are they good stock? I can post more pictures here, but may start separate threads as time permits.
