Thanks vs.

Happy to have a go at anyone's tree. I will try and put one of mine up in the next few days.

Chris h. I thought your first lower right branch could be the lower right I have shown and the branch above that would be wired up as the new leader. It is hard to see sometimes in a photo but I thought those two showed a few buds. The problem with my virt is that a lot of you good healthy growth would have to go and with jbp s I know how hard that can be. Easier for me to draw than for you to cut.

I just popped outside and had a look and there are some shoots could make it possible.

BUT.

The trunk doesn't taper quite so much. My idea was that as the trunk is very dominant and solid I want to keep the foliage compact to keep it a relatively thin sillouette so it's tall in perspective.

I know it has a top but I thought why not cut it off. Inspired by one of anttl threads where he took everything of a J procumbens

Hey olive crazy,

I just liked the look of that live vein wrapping around the dead wood and to me the tree from there up detracts from that. I see it this way. The first thing I see is the base( nice and thick) and then I see the foliage and I look for where that comes from so I trail back and see it wrapping around that dead wood. Like I said this was inspired by anttl J procumbens thread where he has the big purposly grown deadwood above a compact semi cascade of foliage. Before that I would never have thought of it but now I love the concept.

Awesome stock by the way. Good luck with the tree it will be great either way.

Mate, It's a bit hard to get a proper idea of the tree without a basic front on photo.. that might make it easier for people to make a virt. :2c:

Hi Xavier,

I have to agree with ben on it being hard to design based on the photos provided. Anyhow as this is what you have provided I have posted a sketch of what I could see working but please note this is based on no knowledge of the species and the fact it is difficult to see the tree in its entirety.

I think it may be too big of an image, just need to right click and open in new tab to see it in its entirety.

Thank you Squizz, yes i sketched the pot but im undecided to what sort of pot ill use.
