He he he! At least tell Us what happened and what You think you did wrong so we dont do it. Two of my pines from Japan became deciduous too and I think they were over watered...so I know what you mean for a pine to become deciduous. But my pines died as heroes... :lol: all the needles are there just all of them dry.
I ask lots of questions that sound like suggestions. Please remember I am a inquisitive newbie trying to figure out why You made a particular decision, in order to learn.

I would say the repot. Should of waited for a seasons growth . It may not have had enough time in the nursery pot before I re-potted, or I took too much of the root ball off.

Again, I think to much to soon.

It is a pity. It was a tree with lots of potential. This often happens in competitions. I lost already 30% of my entries. I was in Japan for too long and they were not looked after well.

It is a shame. I should know better. I took up Bonsai to teach myself some patients , but your right in saying competitions tend to push the boundaries. I am surprised my other 3 have survived.(so far)
