I'm only doing one workshop for the moment, but will be watching the other too

These international artists have such a wealth of knowledge that its definately worth attending, even if you can't get involved.

If anyone does attend, make sure you say g'day always nice to put a face to a forum name. I'm the tall one with dreadlocks... I'm hard to miss

Yes, its $10 per day just to observe for non-members. Or you can join for $40, get our newsletter, participate in the workshop and come along to other demonstrators over the next year! Bargain! Not many places you can work on a tree with an internationally renowned demonstrator and only pay that tiny cost for it
But if you want to participate, get in asap to put your name down as a participant because I'm told its filling up fast.

Hi mugen
The easiest way to join is to come along to our monthly meeting at the end of month. Meetings are held on last Monday of each month at Collins St Community Centre, Colin's St South Perth at 7.45pm. Most people arrive just after 7pm, and if you want to join and sign up please come a bit before start time, then you can sign up for the workshop This months meeting is on the calendar for march 24th instead of 31st, so I will confirm the date for you from our committee members before then
I don't see any more international demonstrators on our calendar for this year (sorry last year was a big one!) But we have quite a few very experienced and talented members (glances at pup) who are fantastic for helping and giving great advice at our normal workshops. I have found that my own learning has moved up several gears just by surrounding myself with like minded persons once a month, must be osmosis
As a member you can also display trees at our exhibition in November, come to our auction, attend all workshops and meetings, and last but not least, borrow from our library. There are many rare and had to find books available to borrow, I can't go to a meeting without borrowing another one
If you come please say hello, I'm not as noticeable as Jason the gargantuan being quite a bit smaller but if you find him, he can point you down to me

Yeah I feel I have hit a wall Woking on my own. I have admired Robert Stevens work, it is a great opportunity to see him working on the flesh.
I will say hello when I come down, I'll be the one with a red beard Haha.

Really is shaping up to be a great day Am planning on doing both workshops, however don't really have any tree's worthy for critique but will still be there to watch and learn These workshops are a really great oppurtunity to learn from top class instructors, so would definately recommend it for anyone thinking about it

Still tossing up which stock to take, but at the moment I'm thinking of a nice little shimpaku I have, as well as triple trunk casurina will be sure to take plenty of photos when I'm not busy working

Wow! What a weekend it has been, I'm totally exhausted, but it was a great. I ended up doing the two full days with Robert, two workshops, the critique and the demo. As well as the quad demo at our club meeting last night where I got to be his photographer for the night... think I went alright for my first time with a DSLR... I didn't break his camera, so must have been doing ok

I'll post some pictures up tonight (I took hundreds so need to sort through them first), but just wanted to say how amazing it was to watch, and learn from Robert. He's a great bloke, really friendly, and has a really great attitude. I really liked his approach to the art, and think that he opened my mind a bit with regards to the 'rules' and different styles that we use.

Really enjoyed it, and can't wait to see him again

Definitely loved spending the Saturday with him! My brain was buzzing as I went home to have a look over my sticks.
