82 and 83. 82 has a number all shown in the Japanese bonsai exposition, said to be the most well known and highest of standards of all the Japanese award shows.

tools to cut would be just a sharp saw, and then Knob cutter to tidy it up. Apply Cut paste as desired

I just thought to drag this one out that I did a few weeks back

This came out of the ground. There would be no reason to trim your roots as hard as long as it went into a bigger pot and there was plenty of room for more growth.

Ok. I have been away in the country for the last 2 weeks after posting this topic originally. Now coming home to Richmond I have found that my Zelkova is now budding. Is it to late to trim and wire as hard as bretts has suggested? If so and I had to leave trimming the new growth until winter, can I still do the ground layering now that the tree has started to bud/shoot?
Thinking I may have to leave this until next winter!?!??!
Any help/advice appreciated.
