i was thinking of that aswell but the trunk can't really bend that way. i have decided to style it as a cascade but will leave some of the branches for my original thought incase all goes bad. will post a pic after wiring shortly.

If it has no branches for a cascade what branches has it got? There are many designs of Cascade. Unfortunately I am no virtuoso,MasonC wrote:my mum wants me to create a cascade aswell. but it has no real branches on the long part of the trunk
of the Virtuals so nothing there unless I post some of mine which I am loath to do .
As it is your thread. Pup

Re: is there afuture for this tree?
all the buds on the trunk are future branches. get rid of what grows on top and bottom of the trunk and alternate side ones where you think you will bend. cut the bud at the end of the trunk and watch the branches grow.
(im sure examples of the real thing will be fine in this particular case:D)

Re: is there afuture for this tree?
hey thanx for all this advice. here is the plant after its first style. the first picture is it now and the second is what i was originaly going to do. it still needs a fair bit of pruning and pinching but you get the idea.

Here are a couple more alternatives. As others have posted I thought you would not mind a couple more.
