You're welcome, @Redsonic, I'm glad you enjoyed them!

@GavinG 8410 is a Leptospermum wooroonooran, apparently, and I think 8360 is a Lepto hybrid Pink Cascade. I didn't even shop for plants or pots today, sadly.... pleased you enjoyed the trees, despite the shaky camera work....

Cheers Marie! I should have taken some photos of your containers too, to show people what they missed out on. :D

GavinG wrote: September 21st, 2019, 7:32 pm The first Mel had a very relaxed style, and the Lepto (8360) had flowers that weren't gaudy, and suited the form. I don't know what 8410 was, but that very open style worked very well I thought -not just relying on patterns you've seen before.

Thanks again,

Gavin
Ditto. The standouts for me are:

8346
8401
8410

Very nice.

Gav, 8360 looks like Leptospermum scoparium pink cascade. I'm not really a fan anymore as for me the petals are too big and sparse, but they have a very lovely pastel pink colour. I purchased some of them recently as very young seedlings, if you want some let me know mate, their yours. They flower from the get go, very prolific, but I have other Leptos that I prefer to focus on.

I style Bonsai naturally, just as they would appear in the wild.

Thanks a lot Mel for making the time to take so many pictures. A smart move to keep you away from the sale section....

Rory, thanks for the offer of the little L. scoparium, but I'll pass. I've heard they are a little frail on root-pruning, and that doesn't suit my ham-fisted style. I prefer L. obovatum, ericoides "Snowman", and "Mesmer Eyes" that all grow well down here. L. myrtifolium looks interesting.

I really don't like the large flowers on L. grandifolium, but a Certain Local Genius thinks that they're just splendid flower-explosions, to be relished and delighted in. Each to his own. My "Mesmer Eyes" looks like it's about to flower, so I'm just about to hack it mercilessly.

Sadly Andrew Sellman wasn't able to bring his trees down to this show, but since he's posted them on fb, I thought I'd add them here for your delight and joy.
