I cut mine back to where I think the tree's best potential nebari is and to where it needs taper or movement (regardless of shoots or branches), then cut all branches off that arent in the places you want them in.
Clero's will shoot everywhere mate including right at the apex between the cut and bark, after the shoots get an inch long remove the unwanted ones and start to train the others, watch for wire scaring because they grow so rapidly.

These are just tips that I do.

spot on there shannon, i done just that with both of mine, i cage wired the new short shoots with the lightest wire i had which was 1mm. i dont know if there is lighter? possible.

the way they shoot is amazing too

chopped i will have to wire and train these new shoots pretty soon

nice regan, definately wire those new shoots now, and get that leader wired so it is in line a little more, not much just a tad. then work from there champ.
