This is what I'm thinking for my little clero, What does everyone think? Is it acheivable and do you like where it is heading

nice little tree regan, i would definatly go with Rods advice, that will make a ripper tree and it wont take long to get it to that stage either, these things just boom, i reckon they would be the top of my list of favourite trees with figs.


go with Rods virt, he is one of the best stylists in Australia.

nice regan with mine i am right on top of pinching back that is how i have kept the triple trunk and the one on the rock so tight and compact, it takes them a little longer to harden up but i get good structure on the branches from back budding. thats just what i have done anyways, yours is looking good, and with the prune back it will reward you with masses of shoots as you will know

Yep it's shooting out everywhere, I have just started pinching back on this.

hey rod i reckon there is a slightly smaller tree in this one, what do ya reckon? hows this gives it a bit more of a powerful trunk?

I agree with jamie layer the top of and send it to me.

i agree with jamie too i would drop to next branch down and cut so the front of the tree is the highest then the scars will be at the back of the tree nice little base though hope my big one shoots soon

well I've pretty much decided to chop it down

Dayne what are you worried about, you'll have more worries with stopping shoots than waiting for them.

Chris I don't think that I'll air layer it but i'll try to get it to strike as a cutting, if it takes you can have it

I actiually like the first Scetch you did with only about 6 branches

The rods virt I think has the branching too close to gether and you will not get enough Negative space

I think Jamis virt is too short, but Like a slightly taller tree though

Chopped this down a bit more today, still not quite happy with the top but have a much clearer vision of where it is headed now.

It also received an unexpected repot, the styro box it was in fell apart when I picked it up nearly dropped it. It is now in a training pot, lots of nice new roots growing so happy with how this is progressing.

this is where i chopped to in the virt (red line) and used that right branch as the leader to where the green line is.
