This is one of several trees that have a special significance for me, mum doesn't want it back in her garden fearing she will kill it, so coming to a decision about its future has taken some time. She is however fully supportive of it going to my mentor (whom she knows well), in some ways it will replace a very old cascade cedar that he lost in floods a few years ago.

The upside is I will get to see this tree often & also share updates from time to time. About 2 months ago I drove a pipe into the ground to use as a lever point to bring the first branch round and have propped a big chunk of concrete against the branch to hold its position. I would really like to bring it down as well but until it moves to a pot this will have to do.

With good root growth evident in the bag today was the day... chop..

The pipe & concrete used to reposition the cascading branch were removed about 2wks ago & so far no movement has occured :tu:

I had a visit from my mentor today & we decided to get stuck into it. After digging & a haircut...
