Re: Invitation to a DIG!
The plums are surrounded by rocks but I don't think they are quality. Other than that I'm a bit stumped for good rock collecting locations.
Thankyou to those who have expressed an interest here, and those who have PM'ed me. We are getting very close to our maximum number of places so this is very encouraging.
A bit more info very soon.

Re: Invitation to a DIG!
Hi Watto,
Could I also be included in the dig. It would be a first for me as I have never been to a dig before.
Thanks

Re: Invitation to a DIG!
Folks,
The date has been set, as has the approval for the plum removals. The date is Sunday 28 August so if you have indicated an interest, please keep that day free.
I will try to post a photo of a couple of the likely candidates after the next reco of the site.

Re: Invitation to a DIG!
Hi,
Everyone who has shown an interest is in. I went and had a look at the site today and the plums are a bit bigger than I remembered, but I suppose two more years of ground growth tends to do that!
There are many large ones, quite a few medium size ones, and a couple of small ones with a bit of movement for those interested in shohin. There are also a few English Oaks for any one who would like to dig one.
I have attached a couple of photos of just a couple.
Cheers - Watto
(For those who are trying to work out how many would be there - a few to us means about 20 to 30)

Re: Invitation to a DIG!
Thanks for the photos Watto, the oaks look good and so do the plums. I will have to be guided by the experienced people as to how and what to dig.

Re: Invitation to a DIG!
Well the dig has come and gone and thanks to all those people who came from near and far to enjoy a beautiful winters day in Goulburn.
There were quite a few "diggers" and I estimate about 200 trees were saved, rescued, relocated, liberated, preserved, protected from harm, given their freedom or otherwise re-homed. There were no casualties reported.
The quality of the plums was very good and the quality of the oaks was better than expected - all in all fantastic and the digging was a lot easier than it might have been.
Unfortunately I have been sacked as dig organiser from now on because I forgot my camera!!!!!!! Looking on the bright side, there are no incriminating photos?
