I am really looking forward to this one . Hoping to make my first pot, I have a design in mind and it will be great to get some expert advise on how to do it . Graham has quite a large collection of trees that he has collected which I could easily spend another day admiring again .
He lives out the back of nowhere ,but it's worth the drive .
Graham how long does it take to drive from Canberra to Bombala ?
The Snowy group is going to get together at my place next Sunday ( October 25th). Bring a tree or just come for a chat , so If your in the area or keen to cool off in the mountains you're more than welcome to join us . I live near Jindabyne ,ph no.0264562185.
Cheers Craig

Those same bonsai/coffee addicts will be doing it again this Saturday the thirteenth in Centennial Park Cooma from 10 am.
Lovely under the Elms . All welcome . Contact Graham 0428754198 .
Several people turned up in the park in Cooma to get involved in Bonsai . The day was hot but the large English Elms threw enough shade to keep us comfortable until after noon . Graham brought along some Japanese Maples and we all got busy putting on air layers ( yes in the late summer - seperate thread maybe ? ) . A few branches were trimmed and lots of discussion took place .
People are now looking forward to future activities .

Rory I style Bonsai naturally, just as they would appear in the wild.

We are still feeding our addiction to Bonsai up here in the mountains . Last Saturday we set up four tables in the park and six enthusiasts , including one newcomer, filled them with trees . Many people came and talked to us . Asked all the standard questions , such as , "How old is it ?" and " How much is it ? " . Six people put their names on an email list . We worked on a pine , advised on a couple of other trees and handed out some pots which were a gift from a former Bonsai dealer . All in all a great day , the extra interest from a small amount of publicity kept us there long after our usual knock off time .
Cheers
Graham
