Natal fig #1

Post by NathanM »

Hey guys,
This is on of four Ficus Natalensis that I picked up from Tess at Bonsai Northside somewhere around 2 years ago. I don't remember the exact timing though.
They were all severely rootbound with ugly roots curling out of the top of the pot and all fused and just hideous. As a result of been well overdue for some root work, they were on sale nice and cheap. Again I can't remember the exact price.
I don't have any pics that I can find at this stage from earilier development, although I probably have some somewhere.
I defoliated it on New years eve and then did work to it today.
I apologise for the poor pics, I used my phone camera.

Now I am going to let it grow some leaves, hopefully some new shoots and I will repot it soonish. I didn't repot this one earlier as the day I was doing these figs I ran out of soil, and then forgot to go back to it!!
Hopefully some of the scaring grows out fairly well. These usually do as they grow so fast, but some of it is pretty deep :shake:

I seriously like the wire marks. I would wire lower down the bottom and let it eat in like the top to add consistent characters to this one. It will heal eventually and will make this look real cool.... it feet are too clean. More chicken pellets mate!
Cheers
DK
Always we hope someone else has the answer.
