Hiro's coming.

Post by Gerard »

It is official,
Hirotoshi Saito will visit in June/July.
Booking leaflets came out yesterday!
I have organised my holidays so that I will be able to attend every day!

A weekend in Ballarat June 30 and July 1.
3 workshops and one demo.

Workshops afternoon and evening in Melbourne on July 3,5,6,7,9 and 10.
And a repeat of the massive demonstration seen in 2010 on Sunday July 8.

I believe Mornington peninsula members will also be given a special visit with workshop opportunities.

That has filled out nicely John, but it looks like you have not changed the potting angle yet?

I paid my registration this week.
Booked my time off work, so that I can attend all sessions.

For only $235 I get

4 workshops as a participant
4 workshops as an observer
2 advanced critique sessions as an observer
and admission to the massive demonstration held at the club on the Sunday afternoon.

Two years ago this demo attracted 80 people. Seats are reserved, the first to book and pay their $15 get front row.

Registration forms can be downloaded from the Bonsai Society of Victoria website.

I recieved a phone call from the organisers (who know I am attending everything) they asked if I would mind changing the day of my workshop in order to fit somebody into the roster. This was the second such phone call.

This means...... workshop spaces for Melbourne are getting tight, and if you have not yet booked it is time to move!
I believe Ballarat has a few workshop spaces available, and is a fun weekend.

Only 6 more days, I believe there are still workshop opportunities in Ballarat and Blackburn but BSV has it's club meeting tomorrow where I suspect most of the remaining spaces will be filled.
Miyagiman might know if there are still openings in Ballarat

I'm looking forward to catching up with a few of you in the bar for a couple of cold ones  . cheers, miyagiman.
