Long stone

Last year i had the opportunity to quarry a large piece of sandstone, this piece stood out amongst the offcuts.

I set it on the timber sleeper in the garden to mature. A piece broke from the thin end when positioning so it was placed at a small distane to the left. A few days later the dogs crashed thru that part of the garden, breaking a chunk from the right end, it too has been kept as an island. When the garden was redesigned this had to go so I attempted to move as one unit, stone & timber, the cost, a section along the front of the main rock was broken when it fell over. A few extra pieces were broken up & combined to get the present picture. Now all i need is a few decades for the moss & lichen to colonise it

Sweet, love the weathered look and the subtle contrasting colours. Oh and rock sitting on it is alright aswell.

I think I have taken up the art way too late to benefit the outcome
Any how There is an old quarry not to far from home that has an ancient sea bed exposed, well I am sure it is I recon I can see the ripples of the waves in the rock/sand stone.To confirm that is an old sea bed I found these Fossils in the same quarry but in a different type of rock, Man what an area because I also found a shell fossil in blue stone in the bank, I can show a pic if your interested....Am I off topic or what lol

Hi MattA,

A few more decades... how few Just make you can still move that piece of sleeper around, it looks heavy.

I picture in my mind a native ficus growing on the sleeper near the rock pieces...
