A robustly plump olive that is only 20 cm high in a Penny Davis Mudlark pot.
The trunk is 10 cm wide at the base, the tree has quite a few lumps and bumps that give it character and take it well beyond the normal boring straight nursery stock.
It was collected in SA and has nice small leaves. The rainy summer has not been conducive to good growth but it is healthy and given more sun will shoot more than Ned Kelly.
The Mudlark pot is in an earthy blue/green tinged grey with a soft sheen that is simply superb with olives.
Olives tend to have a very straight growth pattern and this knobbly trunk is a little beauty and with branch and foliage development will make a great shohin bonsai in a year or so.
