Orchid pots

Post by Steve Warren »

Can anyone tell me where they get or how I can find these kinds of plastic shallow pots 300 x 120 and 200 x 100mm. I have struggled to find them online anywhere in NSW. I am sick of using too much mix when potting up pre-bonsai material. Larger pots and boxes are great for growing on for larger plant but once you get to the refinement stage(but not quite bonsai pot stage)these plastic pots look like a greta alternative. I have seen of few forum members are using them in their post. ANy suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Steve,
You can but these orchid pots in 3 different sizes. If you contact Port Macquarie Injection Moulding, they are in Port Macquarie NSW. There contact number is 02 6581 1735. I live in Port and have bought these pots from this company.
They send these post all over the world.

Thank you Marcela and Lance for the quick response, I have looked on Ebay but not under that name, Even though I anddown in the Wollongong Area I might give the plastic co. a ring. Thanks again.

Hi Steve

Ray Nesci's nursery at Dural stock both of these sizes. From memory the larger one is $4.95 ,not sure about the smaller.

Ray has a website, so if you google their name you should grind their contact details.

It is better to phone than email as they do not check their emails regularly.

Hi Steve, colanders are a great alternative to orchid pots if you are having trouble getting hold of them, available in most $2 shops.

Cheers,
Mojo

A big thankyou to everyone for all of your ideas. As usual you can always rely on A.B members for help. I will be ordering some down from the orchid pot co. soon, but in the interim I will go check out the $2 shop and see if I can find the correct shape and depth.

Thank you all once again
