Hey everyone,
Not sure if you all have this variety of Willow Leaf Ficus down there in Australia as I believe it was developed here in the States and I don't know if it's made its way there yet. This variety has a wider leaf than the normal and grows faster due to that. I bought this guy from a nursery down in Florida and it was shipped all the way up to me. There are two trunks, which have fused in some places, so I'm going to go ahead and let them fuse together all the way. Just thought I'd get some styling comments on it.
Here's the tree before I defoliated it today:
Took me an hour, but here it is defoliated:
And here's a virt of where I was thinking about taking it (the virt shows the gap closed up already):
So, comments?
Ryan

Re: Ficus salicaria '89
Hi Ryan,
Yes it is here in the land downunder - I have seen it at a nursery in Brisbane (but it was not identified as Ficus '89). Thanks for posting pics.

Great Ash! That's good to hear. Do you remember what it was called at that nursery?Ash wrote:Hi Ryan,

Here's a picture showing the difference in leaf size. '89 is on the left, normal salicaria is on the right.
