Goulburn Bonsai Society Dig

Hi,
Today the GBS had their annual dig and this year we dug Hawthorn. We have dug this species before but the quantity and quality of the stock is just fantastic and every year we go to this location we think it might be our last as the property owner does not like Hawthorn as he normally runs fine wool sheep. And as you could appreciate fine wool sheep and the thorns are not a good mix. Every few years he fires up the bulldozer and clears another 5 or 10 hectares and many trees are gone.
Anyway, after a few days of freezing weather (wind, snow etc) today was a beauty, about 4 deg C and only a light breeze so the clothing was down to about 6 layers!
There are no limits on the number of trees we are allowed to take and as long as we leave the place tidy all is OK.
Hope you enjoy the pics.
