my new hope

Hello , a couple of weeks back i came across a paperybark tree and thought id have a go at bonsaiing it. Here it is in some potting mix and brown gravel, i put some of those water saving gels in the bottom of my pot to keep it wet cause i herd they like water , So does anyone be able to tell me what i should do with it plse. Looks like good material to me Is this collected?

They make excellent Bonsai and this will be no exception. Nice material. DO NOT put the water gel in your pot it will suffocate your tree. Water the tree twice a day instead and sit it in a tray of gravel for humidity. Let the tree grow unhindered for a while and let it recuperate. Probably twelve months or so.

Hi again, what do you mean collected? I found it at a local rubbish tip just sitting there all lonely ,so i took it with me.

i think it might soffocate now because i already used the gel, got me a little frightened to touch it ,oh no i might try take that nasty stuff out now.gee thanks
