I am just getting back into this after about 10 years off from kids. I didn’t have any great plants before. This is my first Melaleuca, I say first because I like their growth and bark texture and will definitely buy more when I see the right ones. I initially bought this one thinking of maybe semi cascade. When I got it home I wasn’t sure what I actually saw it in. About a month after looking at it every couple of days I decided to start.
This is what I ended up with. After reading other posts I realise I may have cut back the foliage too far but with the warm weather at the moment I am hopeful of back budding. I may shorten and carve more into the wood on the right and also cut more branches so it doesn't look so busy but for now I will wait and see where the foliage grows. I can’t see myself wiring this one just clipping as it grows and hopefully achieving a natural looking plant. Its total size including 40mm deep pot is 150mm which I am happy with.
I liked looking at every ones Melaleucas. I notice there hasn’t been any posts in a while. If anyone who has posted theirs previously reads this I would love to see some updates if anyone has them.
Thanks for looking at the beginning of my work.

Re: First Melaleuca
G'day, i have ripped them straight out of the ground cut them back to a short stump with no foliage left on at all and all have budded back well. Keep it in shade with seasol treatment until new shoots appear. The roots look a bit strange to me i would cover them up a bit more or change the angle.
Cheers, Mark.

I will look at changing the angle after I see where new growth comes from. Thanks.

Hello. Unfortunately when we had the heart earlier earlier in the year I didn't keep enough water up to this tree and it died.
