[SOLVED] privet??

Post by Rintar »

Was given this yesterday and was told its a privet will have better photos by Monday just want to get the ball rolling. Once its Id is obtained ill start a different thread for what to do. The people who gave it to me said it was privet but they also think I will turn it into a fantastic bonsai. Yes one of the 3 trunks spears dead. Their also seems to be a new starter creeping up to replace it.

Hi Rintar, a close-up of the leaves would be helpful in getting a positive ID I think.
Cheers :)

Leaves and growth habit certainly look like Privet.

On second look , it is small leafed Privet. (Ligustrum ovalifolium)

Yes I agree its a ligustrum. Very elegant trunks! It could make a very nice tall tree and if incorporate the dead trunk I think it look very dramatic.
