Hi,
Found this today at work. Leaves look like my seiju elm but just a lot larger. Is it possible it's an elm of some variety waiting for me to dig it up and love it, or is it just a weed disguised as an elm?
Love your thoughts,
DustyRusty

Way too big for a seiju elm - I reckon it's a Chinese Elm

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

wow thanks. just really didn't expect this tree to self-sow in Sydney. I knew there were Privets, Hawthorns, Wisteria and things around, but never heard of wild Elms here. Lucky me
Thanks for the thoughts.

Ulmus parvifolia are weeds in Sydney too, don't worry about that!
This whole 'self-sown' or 'self-seeding' thing has really slipped by me...I was always certain that plants were reproducing via seed dispersal before anthropological intervention.
