Hey everyone i'm so stoked to do this its going to teach me so much and i cant wait to see all the entrants. This is my first entry i'm not sure what species it is which is the reason i called it a "yama fig" i posted this fig up here one before when i first collected it i think the thred was (urban yamadori).
My original plan for this tree was to keep it in the current pot and grow/train it that way over time making a long term commitment to this but seeing this comp and knowing how fierce the competition will be i think this one will be my best chance

thanks Dwi and craig was'nt quite sure what i should have called it in the title but i'm glad we cleard that one up. also since i found these in a retaining wall i dont have much of an idea of how old they are if anyone could give an estimation just by the thickness of the roots perhaps would be great?

I do not think they woud be much older than a year or 2.
thanks cre8tiv as soon as i saw it i knew that tree was goin straight in it. thanks ken its incredible how many figs are self sown around the place i just got a new one off a bridge last night and posted it in my collected figs thread its one of if not the best one i've found yet!
update: just on the grow, all i've done is given it a fair coating in chook poo and poked it all in just today. have never let it dry out and top it up every day, and the pot has no drainage plus its in pure sphagnum

thanks bodhi i think my plan will be to just let it keep growing strong and then pot it up into the original pot and style it at the last minute for the final update.
