• Where you obtained it from- cutting
• Cost of stock- nil

This tree is a cutting that was taken along with about 10 others around 6-8 months ago. I have chosen this one to work on as it has shown the best growth and has the more interesting frame to work with. Given it has taken to growing in a sidewards fashion I think it is a natural candidate for a cascade. It has never been re-potted so once work is allowed to commence that will be done to assess the roots and then trunk and branch training will follow from that.

I began by clearing out the inner parts of the branches and reducing some knobs from old damage.

I then wired and shaped all the branches and reduced the trunk to an earlier leader. The following are the results

I left the growing tips on the branches that were lower on the trunk in an attempt not to hamper their growth. These and the rest of the tree will now be allowed to grow freely to thicken and set the wiring until spring, or earlier if there is good growth before then. Then they will likely be reduced to promote back budding and refinement will continue from there.
