Eucalyptus camaldulensis, River Red
Here is one of my favorite trees (one of). It lives in central Vic next to a creek. I happened to be working there and was very impressed by its size and the buttressing and scarring on the trunk. Believe it or not, you can crawl inside and I think up to 6 adults could sit in there.

Damian, this is the exact type of picture and specimen in real life that makes me want to do bonsai. Seeing such a magnificent beauty and hitting it with a ray gun to shrink it into a pot....

Fli Bri, not far from you is Victoria's second oldest River Red Gum, it is in Mill Park I am pretty sure, stuck in the middle of a suburban development but it is not as pleasing to look at in my opnion

The River Reds in Mill Park are awesome, but with all the new development out there, I don't know how long they'll survive...Damian Bee wrote:Fli Bri, not far from you is Victoria's second oldest River Red Gum, it is in Mill Park I am pretty sure, stuck in the middle of a suburban development but it is not as pleasing to look at in my opnion

Thanks again.

Thats a good piont Fly maybe it is worth suggesting planting some new ones while the old ones are still there.
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.
