Here is one of my favorite trees (one of). It lives in central Vic next to a creek. I happened to be working there and was very impressed by its size and the buttressing and scarring on the trunk. Believe it or not, you can crawl inside and I think up to 6 adults could sit in there.

Damian, this is the exact type of picture and specimen in real life that makes me want to do bonsai. Seeing such a magnificent beauty and hitting it with a ray gun to shrink it into a pot....

Fli Bri, not far from you is Victoria's second oldest River Red Gum, it is in Mill Park I am pretty sure, stuck in the middle of a suburban development but it is not as pleasing to look at in my opnion ;)

The River Reds in Mill Park are awesome, but with all the new development out there, I don't know how long they'll survive... It seems almost certain to me that the urban sprawl will mean that when those ancient trees finally give in, there will be no younger trees to take their place. :!:  :!: I might see about posting up photos of some notable ones soon.

Thanks again.
