Styling a juniper

Post by Davehsydney »

Here is a tree I picked up from Bonsai South not long ago. Such an amazingly reliable source of high quality healthy stock!

Here are a few before and progress shots.

I've done something slightly unconventional with the Shari and I'm not entirely happy with it yet... Still more work to be done.

Feedback welcome.

What great stock to work with. This looks more like yamadori than nursery stock, which is a good thing.

Lots of complexity there, and I like what you've done with it. The dead wood adds to the design significantly in my opinion, and it will only look better with age. I kind of like the first after photo, is this just a side view? A few years of refinement and this will be a cracker.

Thanks for sharing, please keep updates rolling!
Cheers, Karl
