What type of Elm?
Hi,
I've been collecting seedlings from this parent tree.
But not 100% sure, I'm thinking its a Chinese elm..
Photos taken after its been raining, so bark is a lot darker than usual.
Any help identifying would be great..
Thanks

Re: What type of Elm?
Yeah I'd go with Parviola.
As to the darker bark, it does look darker to me. But remember that Chinese Elms are one of those trees that have quite a bit of genetic variation. If the darker bark isn't environmental, it's probably just a genetic anomaly.

Re: What type of Elm?
Leaves look too big - I am guessing celtis but a close up photo would help

Re: What type of Elm?
The other common name for Chinese Elm is Lace-bark Elm, refers to the lace like texture and colour pattern in the bark. Yep, Chinese Elm.

I think you've got our answer... Chinese elm for sure. Big fat cuttings can be struck from these.

Spanner in the worx ! Could this be a zelkova seratta ? The tips seem longer and sharper than an elm's ? Just guessing.
