Azalea repotting

Post by Webos »

Just wondering when we would usually repot azaleas? Anyone out there with any experience?

Hi Adam, just when the flowers are beginning to fade, they need plenty of shade after root pruning

Wait for the flowers to finish before giving them a hard prune, remember that azaleas are not apically dominant and do not like the apex pruned too hard. Then wire if necessary before repotting.
The timing can be very different for some varieties of azalea because the flowering time varies.
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

I find late spring and early summer works well but I suspect that azaleas could be repotted all year round.
