I got myself a real bargain this past weekend. Bought 20 pots in a bundle, all but 2 are top quality Japanese made pots in different shapes, sizes and colours.
I bought the lot at auction for $65 from a woman selling her ex-husband's belongings. Most have the original price tags, and Japanese markings on the bottom. The estimated value is well over $400.

Well pull on me cape and call me batman...lets rid the world of all these bad doer's......
It's an auction man. They should be happy with a successful sale.
I see where Andrew is coming from, although it is an auction and yes the aim of the buyer is to get a bargain, at an estimated value of over $400.... Well if be pissed if my ex-wife sold my hard earned belongings for less than a quarter of what they are worth.
Put it in perspective, anyone on here is an avid bonsai practiser, if you broke up with your partner, and they took your pot collection that you had been collecting and planning to use and old it for less than a quarter of what it was worth, how would you feel?
Pretty gutted I'd wager.
Again, I would be happy to get pots of this quality at auction too, but I think what Andrew is getting at is that if it happened to any of us, we would not be all that happy.

Buy the pots, take pics, post em up to share with everyone. But come on here braggin about some other poor bastards misfortune without a shred of empathy? Thanks for the lowering the bar on the forums standards guys, really, well done....
Time out guys - I want to go back to doing some repotting. Lets remember that everyone has their own point of view and we need to be respectful of that.

Hang on guys, she sold her EX husbands pots. Nobody knows the backend of this story. He may have given her his permission, he could have given bonsai away years ago, he may have left the country, she may have tried to make contact with him and is unable to.

How can you ever succeed if you are afraid to fail?
Andrew was trying to raise a point, as I can see and I think he was entitled to. He was then criticised for raising that point and having an opinion.
We have all raised our opinions here, and I think ALL of them are valid.
What is not valid and at all in the spirit of this forum is going out and outright criticising someone and attacking them, sure give a constructive response but guys come on, pull your socks up, lets at least try to act like adults in response to other people's opinions which I might add, were put forward without malice in the first place.
Lets get on with it, and may I ask.....
Close up pictures of each pot please, I would like to see some detail.
