Creating your avatar
A silly question. If I have a graphic and want to convert it to the avatar I want to use (given the specifications required by the forum)(180 pixels, height: 300 pixels, file size: 20.00 KiB)., what is the easiest way to do it??

Hi Jester,
Please have a look at this post in the menu: viewtopic.php?f=97&t=161
Jeff (screen name gocny) has put this together. I have not executed
the instructions in there. So I cannot comment.
I use a free graphic program which can be found here: https://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/index.php
The download is about 14 MB.
Good luck and best regards.
PS: please post further queries if you need to. I am sure somebody will be
able to help.

Hi everyone. I too use Irfan view but I'll also look at Farstone. I am new to ausBonsai and, it will probably be an obvious answer to you, but how do I post an avatar? Also, is there an ideal size of the pic to be attached?

Re: Creating your avatar
hey jester. i still mainly use 'paint' ... yes.. the (paint in the start bar of windows, found under accessories)
i have photoshop, but find i can just as easy work paint (drawback being there are no values when you resize. So its a bit of guess work)
theres probably 500 programs you could use, though only one at your fingertips now for free... 'print screen button' then 'paste' in PAINT, resize from there.
its a very basic method but it works!
