Does anyone know where Taxodium distichum "Cascade Falls" or any other weeping form of swampy cultivar, is sold or who propagates it? :fc: :fc: :fc:

I don't know about 'Cascade Falls' or other prostrate forms of swamp cypress, but when visiting a Bonsai grower recently he had cutting grown Sequoia that were planted in the ground. 2 have grown to over 5m tall in about 4 years, and one has barely reached 1m with a spread of about 4m. He put it down to the tendency of some trees to grow prostrate when cuttings are taken from low horizontal branches and was planning to take more cuttings from that tree low down to see if he could develop a prostrate form.

May take some time, but if you have access to a large ground grown tree with natural horizontal branching you may be able to grow one yourself.

Go to conifer.com.au and go through the index.
They show cascade falls.
I am not sure if they have stock.
Their plants are generally top quality.
p.s. THE answer 2 THE ultimate Q. is 42 !!
