swampy looking sick?

I put my swampy straight into water and gravel about ten days ago and ive noticed in the last few days some of the leaves are sort of curling up at the tips.

does anyone know what could be causing this?? could it just be the change in conditions from being in a pot to going back in water?? should I just wait and see what happens? despite the curly tips it is still growing strong so im inclined to just wait and see what happens but im sure you guys know better than I

well I drilled some holes in the box and drained it and the water was a little stinky. there was some old soil in the root ball that I think came from the swamp this guy was grown in and it stunk so I cleaned it all out and made up a new mix of gravel and I think it should be a lot happier. I think I was a bit silly to put it straight into water anywho, I don't really need it to get too much bigger I just need to work on the branches now so it would have been a bit hard to control whilst growing in water

Great tree, good taper. A future show stopper. Heaps of water and full sun when it gets going. I would probably remove or jin the skinny top bit. Proportions would be better I think.

It's probably in shock from being repotted seeing that it only came into leaf a few weeks back.
Myself I would not put it into water, but a good well drained mix. You can then sit this into shallow water and it will soak up to the roots.
In Melbourne full sun can burn the new growth so I give mine afternoon shade. Which reminds me now to move mine as the leaves are going red.
I suggest you put yours in semi shade till it recovers.
