Garage sale fig find

Post by Drac0 »

Headed out early to the garage sales this morning & found these at one:

Haven't had any thoughts yet about what to do with them so open to suggestions. Wish I had more money (and space!), sooooo many plants I could have purchased... :(

Cheers

I'd be pretty confident that last one in the white pot is a PJ fig - F. rubiginosa. Looks like it is desperate for some TLC - feed and water well every couple of weeks and repot this summer and it should come good.

I think it is a PJ too.

They all need a bit of care for now, having been neglected for some time. The bloke selling said he just didn't have time for bonsai anymore. He had dozens of plants for sale, all suffering from lack of attention. This lot will be going into grow pots soon to let them recover a bit with some minor adjustments. Their current soil is terrible, basically garden dirt.

The good thing with figs is they're very resilient and can come back from almost anything.

Cheers

You all sure about that? The last one looks like a microcarpa to me.

Funny. I thought the last one might be ficus retusa. I say that as the little pointed end of the lead has a slight kick in it like mine does.

Will be interesting to know what it is.
