I live in Melbourne which I'm sure has it's own implications for trees. Also I'd like to note that my tree is only on the recycling bin for the pictures...I do have to keep it off the ground because I've got dogs but I couldn't get a good picture of it when it was on the table I normally sit it on. This is my first time putting up pictures on a forum so please let me know if they're too big, its the recommended size for message boards according to Tinypic but I'll down size them if they're a problem.
I got given a Trident Maple bonsai (my first tree) for Christmas, it's very young and it looks like there might be some sort of disease on the leaves. The thing is I've got two different 'symptoms' on the one tree so I'm really not sure what to do. The first symptom is browning of the leaves particularly on the top, they're also drooping. I'm hoping that this is nothing other then a simple sunburn but I've actually never seen this on a tree before, though something similar happened to my dad's tomato plants once.

The second symptom is what looks like netting has popped up in some of the leaves, my bonsai book didn't have this disease listed. My instinct is to cut off all the affected leaves but I don't want to do that without knowing if it will help or not, I'm especially hesitant because the tree is so young. The 'netting' seems to be affecting only the lower leaves of the tree which seems like a strange thing to me because I would think that if it was some sort of fungus it would be highly contagious and affect all the leaves but that idea comes from my knowledge of people diseases not tree ones lol.
