This rare Japanese trident is from the Koreshoff collection and was started in 1975. The maple has bi-coloured leaves and should interest collectors of rare maples.
There are a couple of possibilities for fronts
Tried to thread graft branching lower on the trunk last year but wasn't successful which has more to do with my juvenile technique than the tree's ability to take a graft. It grows well, holds its leaf late in the season and has a trunk with heaps of character.
