Hi all,
I was hoping that someone might be able to identify this Banksia that I saw today, I couldn't get over the size of the leaves and amazing trunk on it which has prompted the question on ID.
Any help for an ID would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
David

This is an amazing tree.small flowers (about 5.5 -6cm) and leaves a bit like an integrifolia shape and colour with a definite tree form as in photo rather than the shrubby form of some related species.
I think it would make a good subject for bonsai.

Re: Banksia ID help please.
Could be integrifolia or possibly B. marginata. Both have similar leaf shape with silver back to the leaves and both grow to largish trees. Marginata usually has smaller leaves which often have blunt or notched ends compared to integ leaves which are more pointed. Flowers on both species are superficially similar, yellow in colour but usually a bit smaller on marginata.

Re: Banksia ID help please.
Looks very much like my banksia marginata "mini marge". Can be found from central NSW coast through to most of Victoria, very common in Tasmania.
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.
