Lillypily How long

Post by dandybonsai »

I have a large lillypilly with a nice trunk, and Nebari, should i leave where it is and cut of main branches now, than start to dig around root ball coming into Autumn?

It has quite alot of growth this year should be able to cope with harsh treatment?

They are tropical , I would guess late spring early summer would be a good time just before it starts to grow. You could dig down around it now and give it some seasol. I would cut back the branches and trunk at the same time as collection. Leave stubs as a have found them prone to dying back. I have removed 2 LillyPilly airlayers one died and the other died back heaps.probibly due to my after care. I read they need plenty of water . Good after care would be needed after collection avoid hot sun and wind.

I dig my sizigiums almost any time during summer and never lost one,
I ask lots of questions that sound like suggestions. Please remember I am a inquisitive newbie trying to figure out why You made a particular decision, in order to learn.
