Re: Illawarra Bonsai Society Exhibition, 3 & 4 May, Gymea NSW
Hi everyone,
It would be great to see a lot of the bonsai community visiting our show on the 3rd or 4th of May as per the brochure details.
I encourage all of our members to visit as many shows as possible to see what other bonsai artists are doing and just to see different ideas which is a great way of learning and sharing and broadening our knowledge.
This year we will be showcasing Australian Natives (as well as exotics) and within our club we have some great trees that epitomizes our unique flora which for many years were put on the back burner as no-go trees for display. We should be proud of our native trees as they are revered overseas as being very typical of our Australian way of life.
As this weekend falls a week before Mother's Day children will be able to make a bonsai for their Mum's for just $10 with all materials supplied including pink pebbles!
We will also have the Sydney Wildflower Nursery there to supply us with all the native trees used specifically for bonsai.
Also there will be bonsai supplies from Bonsai South Nursery and pots from our very own Janet Selby.
Come ,enjoy and share and make yourself known to us.
See you there,
Brenda Parker (President)

This show is always such high quality, I'm very proud to be part of it. And this year will have lots of Australian natives, which suit my pots very well!

I am very much looking forward to this years show of the Illawarra Bonsai Society. The exhibited trees are always of a high standard and displayed in a very pleasing manner. This show is great for the experienced bonsai enthusiast as well as for the novice.

If anyone is able to grab some photos of the show, that would be extremely awesome

Yes, ditto that Sean.
It's always good to see the results of a lot of hard work put into these shows around the country by members of the individual clubs.
And also it's great to see new trees that blokes like me from afar would otherwise never get to see.
Cheers.........Brian

Such a good exhibition! My appreciation of our natives skyrocketed after going to this. The whole display was really well done. Great work whoever was involved.
The twin trunk juniper and the slanted cedar were incredible! Does anyone on here own them? I dream about these sort of trees.... Bravo!
Here are some photos. Excuse my professional phone photography....
