hi im new to this site but here my juniper cascade im working on i poted it about 8 weeks ago as stock plant from bonsai northside any ideas or constructive criticism

Nice classic structure. I would be wiring and shaping branches, possibly removing a few and definitely shortening some to try to get the padding starting to develop. The base looks impressive. It is hard to see the line in the photos [nothing against the photos but photos are never as good as the real vision] but be sure there is movement and remember that a cascade should resemble a waterfall with the foliage pads being the sprays of water as rocks are encountered.

A very advanced plant... have fun with this one.

nice start. i gotta get back down that way to northside. they have such good stock. can i ask how much this fella cost ya, i havent been there for about 2 years now.
tess and crew are so good with information aswell. very well ran nursery

The third photo down shows a branch going in a different direction to our left. This creates a dischord for the viewer. I wonder if it could be directed into the main flow or shortened to good effect. What do you think?

maybe wired into an apex???

hi hers the tree with a bit of work pulled thr branches down got rid of a lot and choped that long back branch and wired into an apex looks a lot better thanks for the advive now just wait till pads fill out then pull them down flatter.

you've got off to a good start, you could probly bring that top branch up some more to create more of an apex, i think it would give the tree a better feel, just my opinion though

as for everything else not bad, maybe a bit more movement in the leader trunk, in and out etc. then let it fill out for a while

a few growing seasons and it will be great

i think the 2nd photo is the best viewing angle. and i agree with jamie.....or you could get rid of that branch, but i like jamies idea better

its a secret i get imported its tibetan monestry tears
no i use seasol one week thrive powder the next and osmocote pots and planters but this tree a mate suggested to add some charcoal to the soil and its outgrowing all my others by far and its all below the pot line this was my first bonsai i got it as stock in july and worked it and potted it up in one go i can hardly keep up with the pinching
