[ID] tea tree???

Hi guy,
A friend has been cultivating this while in the ground for 6-9months. We are trying to identify so that we can fiigurw out the best timw to remove.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like "Sannantha'' formerly "'Babingtoia'' formerly '' Baeckea'' ,,I think.

Thanks peter, what family are they from?
We thought it might have been a melaleuca alternifolia but obviously not sure hence why im here haha.

Try looking up Baeckea ( Myrtaceae),

The experts are still making changes. I think it is now called Sannantha pluriflora. Small white flowers. I have one similar and other people have posted under Baeckea.

I did a google image search on the baeckea and I would probably say youve hit it on the head! Thanks for your help, any hints or tips on removing from the ground?

Hi Nicholaus,

I bought mine as a stock tree so I not sure about digging( when potting from black pot to Bonsai pot I had no problems). Myself I would wait till the time of year when the flowering is finished and then dig it. Your climate is a lot different to mine and it may have a better chance of survival whenever it is removed.

There are members on this site with more experience with this species and hope they may give you better direction.
